My name is Claudine and I am 40 years old. I am a mother of four children; two boys and two girls. I live with my husband and our four kids in Ruhango district, central Rwanda. I have been weaving baskets for two years. My friends, family and neighbors can all see a big difference in the way my family was living before I became a weaver and now. Weaving has enabled me to help my husband, who is a farmer, to feed our children, and pay the school fees and health insurance for them. With our small income, we managed to start an income-generating project by investing in 100 chickens. With the money I had saved from selling my baskets, I was able to contribute the most to begin this project. My dream is to one day build a house for my family and take care of my kids until they get married.
