My name is Christine and I am 32 years old and live in Kigali. I am married and have two sons and one daughter. I first learned to weave baskets four years ago through a cooperative, and have been weaving ever since. Before I started weaving baskets, my husband and I would work on other people’s farms and could barely survive on the small wage. This led me to learn to weave because there was potential to increase our income. Since I started weaving baskets, my life has changed. I was able to purchase land and we are planning to use that land to build a house so that we don’t have to rent. The monthly fees are a burden to the well being of my family. I am thankful to All Across Africa for giving us hope at having a better future.
