Peleya is 21 years old, married and a mother of two children. She owns a small plot of land with a house. To meet the basic needs of their family, Pelaya and her husband rent a field and cultivate it, and she also sells fish. She is excited to learn how to make sisal bracelets because she wants to develop new skills and improve the income of her family. With the earned from making bracelets, Pelaya plans to buy land for her family, and purchase a moto that she can rent to earn additional income. She feels fortunate that her husband is supportive of her initiative to produce bracelets. She lives in Bukeye II, Commune Nyanza Lac, Province Makamba, Burundi.
