My name is Sabina and I am 50 years old. I am from the Kitgumu district where I am widowed with 6 kids. I have 3 boys and 3 girls, ages 32, 22, 20, 18, 16 and 13. I left Kitgmu once the rebel’s war started. I came to Kampala (Acholi quarter) where my first marriage too place. My marriage wasn’t good since my husband left all responsibilities in my hands. We had separated and I married another man. My second husband ended up having relationships with 4 other women. The relationship didn’t last so I decided to go back to my first husband. By the time I found out that my 2nd husband was HIV positive, the disease had already been passed over to me. I started beading with All Across Africa in 2002. Before I started beading I was crushing stones and life was so horrible. I am so excited now that I am working with All Across Africa. I see my life improving now that I am able to provide for my family. I am able to pay for my daughters’ education which was stopped because of our poverty. That is something that pleases me the most. My hope for the future is to have a good life and to forget about the suffering I went through.
