My name is Dancilla and I am 45 years old. I was the first born in a family of five children, but now I am married and have four children of my own. I married 20 years ago to a man who loves me very much. Despite the low income of my husband and I, God helped us raise our children until I was able to learn to weave and sell baskets. I learned to weave in 2009 from a training put on by the Kigali City Council. Ever since, I have been able to earn money that allows me to help my husband take care of the family. Although we haven’t yet reached all of our life goals, such as building a house, I still have hope that the future will be bright for our family. When I compare our situation 10 years ago to today, I see a big difference. I am thankful to God for giving me a nice, caring husband who is my best friend. Life is sweet with him and our lovely children.
