My name is Elena and I am 47 years old. I have a husband and four children; two of them are in secondary school and two are in primary school. My sister taught me to weave when I was 16 years old. My husband is able to earn a little income for our family through farming. I am happy my weaving helps contribute to the family’s income because we are able to buy food and clothes, pay for school materials and fees, and pay for medical insurance for our family. I am proud that I can occasionally contribute money to my sector so that we can build infrastructure for schools and hospitals and work to develop our community. The baskets bring respect to my family. My dream is to see all of my children finish their studies at University!
