My name is Rosalie, I am 35 years old and I am from the South province in Rwanda. I am the first born in a family of five children. When I was younger, although I had passed my exams to move on to secondary school, I was forced to drop out of school because my parents were unemployed and could not afford my education. This led me to start weaving. I am now married and have four children. My husband earns a small income by driving motorcycle taxis. I am working hard to make as many baskets as possible so that I can help him provide food for the family, pay the school fees for our children and pay the rent for our house. Although life is hard in the city where I live with my family, our lives have improved now that I weave baskets for All Across Africa. My husband and I are saving money so that we can buy our own house and be more comfortable. My greatest dream is to attend the wedding ceremonies of all of my children once they are grown up.
