My name is Jennet and I am 40 years old. I am from Gulu District in Uganda but I moved to Jinja in 1985 to study and that’s when I joined senior one (high school, in Uganda). I could not go to school in Gulu because of the war with the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). Currently I have a small business selling local beer called “Malwa”. To supplement this income, a friend introduced me to bead making. I have been a member of a bead-making group called Suubi, which means Hope in English and we have been making and selling beads and beaded necklaces for 6 years now. I am proud to say that I am good at what I do. I have very high expectations for this new business opportunity with All Across Africa. I am hoping this new opportunity will help us develop individually, as a group, and as a community. I am excited to learn new skills from this opportunity that will help me become more successful as a business lady. I would also like to thank the clients in America who buy our necklaces; because when they do that, they are supporting our families and helping us live with hope.
