My name is Diane. I am 28 years old and I live in the Byimana Sector of Rwanda. I was the third born to a family of three girls and two boys. I was never able to finish my studies because of a lack of money for school fees. I learned to weave baskets from my mother who has been weaving for a long time. It didn’t take me a long time to learn because I was committed and could see how benefiting it was for my mom. So, I knew it was the only way to plan for my future. I could not waste my time but work hard to earn as much as I can because All Across Africa was placing basket orders every week and pay us regularly which enabled me to save money and purchase different things including livestock (Pigs and goats). I plan to continue to weave baskets because I have seen that it is a good job and a way through which I can reach my life goals. My dream is to get married and have two children: a boy and a girl and see them growing, get married and make grand children for me.
